What is Law
The Nature and Functions of Law
Finding out what Law is can be compared to being put in the middle of forest. You do not know where you but if you look closely at your surroundings you will understand the laws.
Law is a formal mechanism of social control, Order is therefore necessary but the form which it is maintained is certainly not universal as many anthropological studies have shown.
14 Frugal Shopping Tips: Confessions of a Shopaholic Fashionista

1. Bring along a calculator (or use the one on your cell phone) to help you make shopping decisions based on tax, percentage markdowns, etc.
2. Before you go out there and shop, try to figure out what you need based on your current wardrobe. Then make a list and try to stick to it! Do you really need yet another dress in your overstocked closet? Will another pair of pumps really make a difference? If the answer is no, avoid swiping that credit card.
Make sure you don’t get carried away with all the other marked-down items you’ll find during sales. Stop yourself from impulse buying and stick to your list, as much as you can.
3. Always ask a salesperson about the store’s next sale (no one wants to buy a sweater the day before it’s marked down). Befriend the sales staff at your favorite stores, or sign up for their mailing list so you can find out about sales before they can happen- and never pay full price!
Why Themis?

A common representation of Justice is a blind-folded woman holding a set of scales. The origin of the Goddess of Justice goes back to antiquity. She was referred to as Ma'at by the ancient Egyptians and was often depicted carrying a sword with an ostrich feather in her hair (but no scales) to symbolize truth and justice. The term magistrate is derived from Ma'at because she assisted Osiris in the judgment of the dead by weighing their hearts.
Why Themis? apperantly she was the first recorded person in history to hand out Justice. In the progression of time the Romans took to her as well calling her the Goddess of justice. She was called Justitia and was often portrayed as evenly balancing both scales and a sword and wearing a blindfold. She was sometimes portrayed holding the fasces (a bundle of rods around an ax symbolizing judicial authority) in one hand and a flame in the other.
Sickness absence related to early death
It was found that: "...30 per cent of people who had one or more stints of at least seven days off work had a 66 per cent increased risk of premature death compared to those who had not had any long periods of sick leave". The study was based on 6,500 civil servants, and sickness records were assessed from London-based employees in 20 Whitehall departments between 1985 and 1988 and compared with mortality up until 2004.
