Note: I first ran this piece the day after Christmas. I've decided to share it again for the New Year as a slightly shorter and revised post.

As we move through the holidays and we are inclined to sit back and let all the stress fall from our shoulders, I join you in saying take a breath. However, some time in the next week, we will notice how much lighter we feel, and that is the time to dig deep inside, put on our running shoes, and start the '09 marathon determined to win. There is no better time to plan our strategies then when the stress is gone.

Here are my 10 New Year's Resolutions to take my company's brand and me to the next level:

1. Form a partnership that will blow people's minds and take the leadership of the company to new heights.
2. Find the next big idea and go for it.
3. Swing for the fences without fear of striking out.
4. Be ready when the big deal comes and close it.
5. Treat everybody--competitors, clients, co-workers, friends and family--with respect, dignity, honor and love.
6. Say and do no harm.
7. Support a social cause.
8. Stand up and be counted when a wrong is being committed.
9. Replace ego with heart and mind.
10. Use both sides of the brain.
