What is Google?

Google is mainly a popular search engine, which a lot of people use for its simple main page and fast search results. The search engine is a free service, but how do they make money? They make money by having advertisement on the right hand side. Those advertisements are relevant to the keywords you use to search for things. Every time someone clicks on one of those advertisements, Google makes money. Imagine 10,000,000 people uses Google per day and 1% of those people click on at least one advertisement, they just help Google made approximately $100,000 in a day. Of course they make more than that. Google is so rich now, they can afford to make their employees fat by giving them a free buffet, which they can eat anything there for free. If you work there, you will literally gain weight if you don't exercise. Below are a list of programs:

Google Adsense - allows everything people like you and me to sign up and display Google ads on your website. Google will pay you a percentage of the click earnings. Some people make more than $100,000 a year just by having those ads display on their website.

Google Earth - allow people to browse around the globe and zooming in on different countries. You can also find a friends house, landmarks, historic places, or your own house. Don't worry about privacy because it is only still pictures which you cannot see people moving around.

Google Talk - Let's people keep in touch and chat with other Google Talk people. Similar to AIM, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, etc.

Google Adwords - Lets people advertise with them. When people post up an ad it will show up on search results or content related websites. A lot of regular people are able to make a living using Adwords selling affiliate products.

They have a lot of free programs too. That is why Google is so successful with stock share at $500, while a few years ago it was at $90. All these programs are very useful. They make most of their money from advertising for people.
