Poking in the dark
Today our Vet asked me to go and develop some X-Rays. Not a big deal, I thought, as I had practiced it couple of months earlier. I went to the dark room and closed the door behind me. Hmmm. I remembered that there was this little red light last time, but now it was just pitch black. I couldn't see anything at all. I didn't want to return and confess my ignorance, so I started feeling the machine with my fingers. I vaguely remembered that I was supposed to open the container with the X-Ray picture on, take the picture out and slide it into an opening of the machine and wait it to re-emerge from the other end. I managed to use considerable amount of time poking away and trying not to make a mess of things as I didn't dare to switch any lights on. Finally, I managed to get the film to the right place and luckily found it from the other end! I was pleased as a punch when it turned out as a decent X-Ray. Otherwise the day was busy as usual.
