Where's the cat?
Normal, busy day today at the Vet's. I was rushing around and trying my best to multitask, answering the phone and helping the clients who werecoming trough the door as a steady stream- while making sure that animals were ok. After we finished the operations, the Vet went home for a break and I stayed managing the reception. I got a phone call from one of our pet owners, who's cat we had just couple of hours earlier took a blood sample from. Lady was asking how the cat appeared- and I took the portable phone to the back room, chatting to her while finding her cat. I had a quick look to our operating room. The cat wasn't there. So, I looked from the room where we had the cages- the cat wasn't there either. My pulse started to get up few notches at this point and I asked the owner to hold the line, while I muted the phone. Where an earth was that cat?? Last time I had noticed it was when I personally placed it back to his carrier box. Both the cat and the box were nowhere to be seen. I started to panic at this point and rushed around trying to look from everywhere in the building. Finally, when I had almost given up and gone to confess to the owner that we had somehow lost her pet- I opened the office door and there he was. Safe and sound, in his own little box behind the door in the office. I think the cat's owner was slightly curious of why it had taken me so long to go and check for the cat- but she didn't comment on it.
