Busy bee

My weekly work day at the Vet's this week was just plain busy. No high drama (which I was grateful about) and nothing really out of ordinary. But then again- every day is very different so it's sometimes hard to say what is ordinary. We operated on two cats and a dog this time, besides seeing the animals during the consultation. The other cat, Mellie, had exploratory stomach operation and thankfully the lumps we found were most bening- namely the intestine was full of stools as the cat had been constipated! The second operated cat, Tara, was supposed to get just couple of stitches to her fresh side wound- but after shaving off the fur around the area we discovered that the cut was over 10cm long, stretching over most of the poor cat's side. No wonder Tara had been a tad uncooperative before the sedation. The Vet managed to clean and stitch the wound nicely and I'm sure Tara appreciated it too as she appeared so much happier when she woke up again. Our luck continued with the dog- the big Labrador needed to have her blood samples taken and she just gave her paw and sat patiently awaiting us to do it- while she was wide awake! Very good sport, I'd say. I hope I'd be equally brave when I see my dentist...
